Re: Crematorium for Hindus in London
On behalf of NCGO I sincerely thank you for your response dated 1st December 2016 on behalf the Mayor of London Hon.Sadiq Khan.
It is a pity that Mayor cannot help the Hindu Community to provide the assistance to locate a suitable site from the land that belongs to GLA. We understand the constraints he may have.
We have a site available in LB of Brent (In Wembley) which is roughly 6 Acres, owned by a Trust who will agree to give the site, this a Sports Ground which originally was being used as Car Park by the Rugby Club. There is a further Land ( Ground) held by LB of Brent presently used as Sports Ground which is hardly being used.
Both Sports Grounds together will provide suitable site for the Crematorium, Community will need Mayor's assistance to:
1. Agree with LB of Brent to assign the Freehold Titles to both Grounds
2. Agree with LB of Brent to give Planning Permission for the Crematorium
3. Assist in getting the Grants where Possible
Please note Crematorium when built will be for use by all the Communities. Hindu Community will manage the site for the Community.
I hope we will have favorable response from the Honorable Mayor Mr.Sadiq Khan.
Also we are holding our Annual Event on Monday 1st of May 2017 would like to invite the Mayor to attend the function, Gujarat Day. Our Members would be delighted to receive him. Await your response
